Last updated: October 13, 2026

Garden Suite Toronto ("we", "us" or "our") designs, permits and builds garden suites and backyard homes in the City of Toronto. This policy explains what personal information we collect through gardensuitetoronto.ca and during projects, why we collect it, and how we protect it. We follow the principles of Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

## 1\. Information We Collect

We collect information you give us directly, including:

- Your name, phone number and email address
- Your Toronto neighbourhood, property details you choose to share (lot width, existing garage, rear lane, timeline) and the service you are interested in
- Information you provide during a feasibility review or project, such as surveys, photos, drawings and utility details for your property
- Records of our calls, emails and meetings with you
- Payment details for invoices, processed through your bank or payment provider (we do not store full card numbers)

Our website also collects limited technical information automatically, such as the page you submitted a form from, browser type and general usage data, through cookies and similar tools.

## 2\. How We Use Your Information

- To respond to your request and call you back, usually within 24 hours during business hours
- To prepare feasibility reports, quotes, designs, permit applications and contracts for your property
- To apply for permits and approvals with the City of Toronto, Toronto Building Division, Toronto Water, Toronto Hydro, Enbridge, TRCA and other agencies on your behalf
- To schedule and manage construction, inspections and warranty service
- To improve our website and services
- To send you project updates and, only with your consent, occasional information about our services

## 3\. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to deliver your project or as required by law, with:

- Government bodies and agencies reviewing your permit and approvals
- Surveyors, arborists, engineers, suppliers and trades working on your project
- Service providers who help us run our business, such as our lead-capture form provider, email and document storage, under confidentiality obligations
- Professional advisors such as lawyers, accountants and insurers
- Authorities when required by law

Project photos we publish are safe-generic: no faces, no addresses and no house numbers, and we ask before using photos of your property.

## 4\. Website Forms

Our contact and feasibility forms are processed by a third-party lead-capture service that forwards your submission to us by email. It filters spam and strips code from submissions. Your submission is used only to respond to your enquiry.

## 5\. Cookies and Analytics

We may use cookies and analytics tools to understand how visitors use our site. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are sent. Some parts of the site may not work as well without them.

## 6\. Data Security and Retention

We use reasonable physical, technical and administrative safeguards to protect your information. We keep project records for as long as needed for the project, your warranty period and our legal and tax obligations, then dispose of them securely.

## 7\. Your Rights

You can ask to:

- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Withdraw consent to marketing messages at any time
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep
